On August 19, 2013, in the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Lord of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church Canonical, Nicholas, Bishop of Lviv and Uzhgorod, Prykarpattia and Transcarpathian region ministered the Divine Liturgy in honour of one of 12 main Feasts of Christians of the Eastern rite - the Transfiguration of the Lord. All the present felt the specificity of the prayer in the temple, which was built in honour of the majestic event, in the temple that was built by the faithful with the sincere love and deep faith in the salvation of people, in the awakening of their Divine nature.

This utterance has a very deep meaning, but, unfortunately, many people do not understand it. Any misunderstanding leads to opposition and brings a person to the wrong way. How can we explain the words of Jesus from the Holy Gospel in a right way? Having read or heard them somebody think: "How could it be? If I have father and mother, how shouldn’t I love them? How shouldn’t I help them? How can I leave everything and just follow God, serve to God only, and forget about my relatives?" No, our God Jesus Christ meant: a person who loves his/her relatives and neighbours more than loves God cannot be truly happy and cannot sincerely follow God.

On Holy Friday, May 3, 2013, in Kyiv, in the Cathedral of Transfiguration of the
Lord of Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church Canonical, Bishop Oleksandr of
Zhytomyr in concelebration with Bishop Vasyliy of Fastiv and Bishop Mykolai of Lviv
and Uzhgorod ministered the evening service with the rite of the Procession of the
Holy Shroud. The Holy Shroud symbolizes remembrance of the Savior's suffering and
death on the cross, His removal from the cross and burial. Christ's infinite love
for the people is testified by the fact that even when He was crucified, He prayed
for His tormentors, saying, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do".

On Palm Sunday, April 28, 2013, in the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Lord
of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church Canonical, the festive Divine Liturgy
was celebrated by Oleksandr, Archbishop of Zhytomyr in concelebration with Vasyliy,
Bishop of Fastiv in honor of the entry of Jesus into Jerusalem on the eve of severe
sufferings and crucifixion on the cross two thousand years ago.

They were rich, as well as God-fearing, people. They had no children to bring joy to their hearts and to inherit their wealth after their deaths. They remained without a son until they grew old and they were enveloped with despair. God had pity on them and gave them this saint. He was filled with the Divine grace since his young age. When he reached school age, he demonstrated, through intelligence and knowledge, that he learned far more from the Holy Spirit than he did from his teachers. He learned all the doctrine and the teachings of the church since his young age and was ordained deacon.
