Taking part in all-Ukrainian assembly in Maidan Nezalezhnosti

O n Sunday, December 8, 2013, after the accomplishment of the Divine Liturgy and common prayer for our God-given motherland Ukraine, clergy and parishioners of the Transfiguration of the Lord temple joined the all-Ukrainian assembly in Maidan Nezalezhnosti Square to be with the people of Ukraine to pray and act in accordance with the words of the hymn of our independent state:

Ukraine's glory has not yet perished, nor her freedom.
Upon us, fellow compatriots, fate shall smile once more.
Our enemies will vanish, like dew in the morning sun,
And we too shall rule, brothers, in a free land of our own.
Souls and bodies we'll lay down, all for our freedom,
And we will show that we, brothers, are of the Cossack nation!

Anyone who comes to Maidan Nezalezhnosti in Kyiv on these historical days of establishing justice in the state, understands that the Lord Himself is invisibly present among the protesters. His presence is manifested in kind atmosphere, in love, in respect for each other. It seems that the good neighbors came together to the square, though actually there are standing people from all over Ukraine. They have different religious views, different social status, but all together they are the Ukrainian people, who peacefully defend their dignity and right to decide their fate.

Glory to Ukraine! Glory to heroes!
