With the God's blessing and by the decision of the Holy Synod four bishops ordination took place in 2012 in the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church Canonical:

  • Oleksandr (Nehodenko), Archbishop of Zhytomyr;
  • Vasyliy (Nesterenko), Bishop of Fastiv and Bila Tserkva;
  • Daniel (Gagnepain)Bishop of Bourges;
  • Mykolai (Berdiuhin), Bishop of Lviv and Uzhgorod, Zakarpattia and Prykarpattia regions.

During 2012, three bishops, one of them in the status of candidate, have been accepted to the UAOC-C clergy:

  • Philip (Ritche V. Buenavides), Bishop of Koronadal and province of South Cotabato;
  • Agafangel (Juan Nguema Edjang Akoma), Bishop of Bata and All Equatorial Guinea;
  • Demetrios (Stavros Zagrafos), Metropolitan of Athens, Patriarch's administrator in Greece.

In late 2012, after consideration by the Holy Synod, the request of Vasyliy (Tomynets), Chor- Bishop of Uzhgorod and Zakarpattia on retirement because of hard work in recent years, which affected his health, was approved. Bishop Vasyliy was blessed to withdraw from cases associated with the management of the diocese, but he was left the right to participate in religious services, to carry the word of God to the faithful in the status of honorary bishop.

 

Oleksandr, Archbishop of Zhytomyr, Vicar of Kyiv

On Sunday, November 25, 2012, during the Divine Liturgy in the church of St. Catherine in Neuilly-en-Sancerre, France,  Moses, Patriarch of Kyiv and All Rus-Ukraine, in concelebration with   Demetrios, Metropolitan of Athens, ordained His Eminence Chor-Bishop Oleksandr (Nehodenko) as bishop. In addition, by the decision of the Holy Synod, Bishop Oleksandr was elevated to the rank of Archbishop and appointed him as Archbishop of Zhytomyr, Vicar of Kyiv.

 

 

Vasyliy, Bishop of Fastiv and Bila Tserkva

On Sunday, November 25, 2012, during the Divine Liturgy in the church of St. Catherine in Neuilly-en-Sancerre, France,  Moses, Patriarch of Kyiv and All Rus-Ukraine, in concelebration with   Oleksandr, Archbishop of Zhytomyr and   Demetrios, Metropolitan of Athens, ordained  Chor-Bishop Vasyliy (Nesterenko) as bishop and appointed him as Bishop of Fastiv and Bila Tserkva.

 

 

Daniel, Bishop of Bourges, Patriarch's administrator in France

On Sunday, November 25, 2012, during the Divine Liturgy in the church of St. Catherine in Neuilly-en-Sancerre, France,  Moses, Patriarch of Kyiv and All Rus-Ukraine, in concelebration with  Oleksandr, Archbishop of Zhytomyr,   Demetrios, Metropolitan of Athens and   Vasyliy, Bishop of Fastiv and Bila Tserkva, ordained reverend Archimandrite Daniel (Gagnepain) as bishop and appointed him as Bishop of Bourges, Patriarch's administrator in France.

During the ordination of Bishop Daniel, the St. Catherine church was crowded with the faithful. There were also representatives of the authorities and the press. The reporters covered this event as an outstanding one for the Orthodox Church of France, as there was a canonical ordination of Archimandrite Daniel as a bishop by four canonical bishops, successors to the episcopal lines of Saint Peter and Saint Paul, for the development of God Church in France.

 

 

Mykolai, Bishop of Lviv and Uzhgorod, Zakarpattia and Prykarpattia regions

On Sunday, December 9, 2012, during the Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral of Transfiguration of the Lord in Kyiv, capital of Ukraine,  the Council of Bishops, led by Oleksandr, Archbishop of Zhytomyr, in concelebration with   Demetrios, Metropolitan of Athens and Vasyliy, Bishop of Fastiv and Bila Tserkva and   Vasyliy, Chor-bishop of Uzhgorod and Zakarpattia, ordained  Archpriest Mykolai (Berdiuhin) as bishop.  Patriarch Moses appointed Bishop Mykolai as the ruling bishop of Lviv and Uzhgorod, Zakarpattia and Prykarpattia regions.

 

 

Philip, Bishop of Koronadal and province of South Cotabato

On February 15, 2012, after consideration at the Holy Synod meeting,  Patriarch Moses signed the decree on admission of His Eminence Philip (Ritche V. Buenavides) from the Philippines to the UAOC-C clergy with the title of Bishop of Koronadal and province of South Cotabato.

Professor, Doctor of Theology, His Eminence Bishop Philip founded a school for the poor and has devoted his missionary service to taking care of children. The school has been operating for the fifth year and provides free education for nearly 100 children of preschool age annually.

 

 

Agafangel, Bishop of Bata and All Equatorial Guinea

On May 24, 2012, with the consent of the Holy Synod,  Patriarch Moses signed the decree on admission of His Eminence Agafangel (Juan Nguema Edjang Akoma) to the UAOC-C clergy with the title of Bishop of Bata and All Equatorial Guinea.

Bishop Agafangel has devoted his missionary service to spread of the Orthodox faith in Equatorial Guinea. His church was built by his own efforts. Number of believers is growing thanks to the spiritual care of the priests under the leadership of Bishop Agafangel.

 

 

Demetrios, Metropolitan of Athens, Patriarch's administrator in Greece

September 21, 2012, after a discussion at the Holy Synod meeting,   Patriarch Moses blessed   Demetrios (Stavros Zagrafos) to arrive in Kyiv in the status of a candidate for admission to the UAOC-C clergy -K with the title of Metropolitan of Athens, Patriarch's administrator in Greece.

Metropolitan Demetrios is the successor to the episcopal line of ordinations from Saint Paul, served under the aegis of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, was given the leaving documents, was ordained as bishop and elevated to the rank of Metropolitan of the Greek Orthodox Church. Metropolitan Demetrios had asked   Patriarch Moses to be taken under his omophorion  to establish the Orthodox community for Greek citizens living in Ukraine.
