In the morning of January 7, 2013, in the Cathedral of Transfiguration of the Lord of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church Canonical, Vasyliy, Bishop of Fastiv, in concelebration with Mykolai, Bishop of Lviv and Uzhgorod, celebrated the solemn Divine Liturgy in honor of the Nativity of the Lord.

Especially blessed is the holy prayer on day of the nativity of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As the Son of God, Jesus Christ, came in the human world on this day two thousand years ago. Heavenly Father fulfilled His promise, repeatedly given through the prophets in the Old Testament - to send the Savior of the world.

"Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel"

(Isaiah 7:14)

Savior of the world was born as an ordinary human being in a cave near Bethlehem, where shepherds herded their sheep in bad weather. However, His Nativity became the greatest life-affirming event for men since the Fall. For every living soul, who found Jesus Christ, henceforth knows that man is not a lonely traveler in the black space desert, but he is a Child of God, Child of the intimate and immense Creator, contributor to the divine design. It fills our life with joy, beauty and meaning. Year after year, on the holy day of Christmas, a miracle of renovating of souls happens with the grace of God. Human souls are filled with joy and benevolent intentions, aspirations for goodness and love, happiness and harmony.

Let’s greet one another, sing Christmas carols and let these blessed days remain in our hearts forever!

Christ is Born! Glorify Him!
Christ is Born! Glorify Him!
Christ is Born! Glorify Him!

A song was heard at Christmas
To wake the midnight sky:
A saviour's birth, and peace on earth,
And praise to God on high.
The angels sang at Christmas
With all the hosts above,
And still we sing the newborn King
His glory and his love.
