On the third Sunday of Great Lent, March 27, 2011, in the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of Lord of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church Canonical Oleksandr, the Bishop of Zhytomyr, Vasyliy, the Bishop of Fastiv and Vasyliy, the Bishop of Uzhgorod concelebrated the Divine Liturgy. They called the faithful to accept in their hearts the words of Our Lord Jesus Christ who foretells us in the Holy Gospel:

"If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself
and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever
would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his
life for my sake and the gospel's will save it." (Mark 8:34).

Are we ready to follow God? Will we, people, be able to trust in Him? We kneel down before the Life-Giving Cross for the grand force of Love and unbelievable victim for our sake, thanking God for His inestimable gift. Every good soul, which can feel Love and act fulfilling the will of Lord, follows His voice. Having taken his or her cross, the good soul starts to walk along the thorny path of salvation paying no attention to the seductions of this world. It is not easy, but God Himself protects each soul like this, and there is the great joy in His eyes when he sees that a soul strives for salvation. The great reward is to be given to the soul which has decided to follow God. And that reward is the Everlasting Life.

After the Divine Liturgy, the faithful could venerate the Life-Giving Cross.
